What Did You Miss at Cable Show 2012?

CEOs, collegiate hackers, a late-night comedian and a federal agency chairman were among the diverse group of participants at The Cable Show 2012, our three-day interactive event which demonstrated how the cable industry is delivering the digital future to consumers.  A packed show floor (and lobster rolls close by) helped make Boston a great place to host the show.

So what did you miss?  You may have already seen some of the videos and our recap of news coverage, but we’ve also just finished compiling stats, facts and highlights for our new end of show report. The takeaways: High-quality attendance, prolific media coverage, exuberant social media conversation and unprecedented diversity in the people and perspectives on stage.

From whiz-kid students turning Imagine Park into their 48-hour home, to leaders in cable, Internet video, wireless, sports and policy circles discussing the latest trends and challenges, the show inspired real dialogue among diverse sectors – and offered participants a unique opportunity to collaborate, connect and contribute.

Some impressive numbers help tell the story:

  • More than 10,000 participants including over 1,000 from 47 countries
  • 286 companies present on the exhibit floor
  • 86 appearances by inventors, strategists, thinkers and developers
  • 5,017 downloads of the mobile app
  • 347 media registrants

And with nearly 100,000 views to date for live and on demand video archives of General Sessions and Imagine Park events, the impact continues to resonate.
