Showtime Networks’ Matthew Blank and Time Warner Cable’s Glenn Britt to Co-Chair NCTA Annual Convention

Los Angeles to Host 2010 Event

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) announced today that The Cable Show 2010 will be held May 11-13, 2010, as part of “Cable Connection - Spring” in Los Angeles.  The 59th annual convention and international exposition, the cable industry’s premiere U.S. event, will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center and the neighboring Nokia Theater. The Cable Show 2010 will be co-chaired by Matthew Blank, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Showtime Networks Inc., and Glenn Britt, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Time Warner Cable. Returning to Los Angeles for the first time since its 1996 convention, NCTA announced that it will utilize both the state-of-the-art downtown Los Angeles Convention Center for exhibition and meeting space, and the exciting new Nokia Theater, an adjacent facility, as the locale for the convention’s General Sessions.  The Nokia Theater is home to a wide array of entertainment industry events, including the Emmy® Awards.

“Los Angeles is the epicenter of the entertainment industry, and cable is the home to the quality Emmy Award-winning programming America’s television viewers want,” said Showtime’s Blank.  “L.A. should provide a great backdrop for an exciting show.”

Events surrounding The Cable Show 2010 will also make use of L.A. LIVE, a new, one-of-a-kind entertainment campus.  Adjacent to the Convention Center complex, L.A. LIVE offers a world-class sport and entertainment destination featuring restaurants, clubs, theaters, hotels, shopping and much more.

“We are very excited to be hosting The Cable Show in Los Angeles,” added Britt. “As a leader in both content and cutting-edge technologies – cable has a great story to tell, and with Hollywood and Silicon Valley nearby, Los Angeles provides a great opportunity to explore the convergence of award-winning entertainment and leading edge distribution platforms.”
