Everything You Need to Know for #Cable2014

HeaderShow

With less than 24 hours before the launch, we wanted to publish one last post sharing the important Cable Show links and reminders that'll help you get the most out of The Cable Show 2014. See you tomorrow at the General Sessions! And, come early for Time Warner Cable's sponsored breakfast at 9:00 am.

#CABLE2014 EXHIBIT FLOOR

The exhibit floor serves as a visual representation of the breadth of the industry combining the best in entertainment and technology. The layout is ideal for exhibitors and those passing through, as large booths surround the 10,000 sq. ft. Imagine Park down the center, and other exhibits span to the edges of the Convention Center Hall. For a complete list of booths and a map of the show floor, go to http://2014.thecableshow.com/.

IMAGINE PARK

Imagine Park returns to The Cable Show 2014 with a larger space and a bolder format. The Park serves as a live portal for presentations, demonstrations and panel discussions as more than 30 companies take the stage. Also in the Park, the Internet of Things (IOT) Lounge will house a diverse sampling of devices, gadgets and toys highlighting the future of technology and connected devices. Don’t forget, Imagine Park sessions are streamed live at http://live.thecableshow.com.

CONNECT WITH THE SHOW

Your best source for news, announcements and last-minute updates during The Cable Show will be @CableShow on Twitter. For other Cable Show news, you can follow @NCTACable and sign up for updates from platform, NCTA’s official blog. And most importantly, don’t forget to join the conversation as it happens via #Cable2014 on both Twitter and Instagram. If you’re not in LA, or you miss a key General Session or Imagine Park panel, you can watch these events streamed live at http://live.thecableshow.com/ and catch them on-demand shortly after.

IMAGINE FILM CHALLENGE

Imagine Park will also be home base for the 48-hour student film competition dubbed the Imagine Film Challenge, in partnership with ShortsHD – The Short Movie Channel. All of the films will be shot on The Cable Show exhibit floor at the Los Angeles Convention Center and surrounding area. They’ll be screened and critiqued by a panel of judges and the winning film will take home a Top Prize Award following the screening. And perhaps the best part of all – the projects will later be broadcasted on ShortsHD channel, exposing the world to these young, up-and-coming filmmakers.

MILITARY VETERANS IN CABLE

Last year, The Cable Show hosted Hiring our Heroes, a job fair designed to connect military veterans with dozens of cable industry companies. The job fair was part of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s initiative focused on placing one million military veterans into new jobs by 2014. One year later, we’re pleased to debut some of the stories military veterans are telling about their careers in cable. Keep an eye out during General Sessions and on NCTA’s YouTube page for videos of these stories.
