The State of Premium Television in America in 2017

Last week we did a status check on the state of America’s internet connectivity and speeds. What we found was that millions of consumers are benefiting from the increasingly fast and reliable internet connections that ISPs have been delivering for nearly two decades.

This week, we took a look at the state of premium television, a term that describes all of the award-winning content that pay TV networks produce. And we found similar strides that have made premium TV programming the best in the world.

From Emmy-award winning shows to the breakthrough programming of new independent networks to the best championship sports, the rich and diverse menu on premium TV gives every consumer a space on television. The high-quality content comes as a result of a deep investment in programming over the past couple of decades, and to which we owe the rich and diverse storylines we see on our favorite shows.

And with TV Everywhere on the rise, consumers can now watch their sports teams or latest television series on the go or at a time of their choosing, all through their TV provider. In a time when consumers have more alternative viewing platforms than ever before, a majority of consumers still turn to their premium TV providers to live stream shows on their devices or for video-on-demand viewing.
