You’ve broken out the brackets and dialed the trash talk to eleven because as of yesterday, you’re in full March Madness swing. In years long past all of this meant rushing home or out to the bar to catch big games. More recently, it’s meant loading up your DVR with piles of games and zooming through them as quickly as possible before going to bed. But this year, streaming TV users will be able to watch in whole new ways.
First, there’s the all new NCAA March Madness Live app built by the NCAA, Turner Sports, and CBS, which is available on all of the major streaming platforms. NCAA says, “NCAA March Madness Live will provide college fans with the ultimate digital destination for NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship allowing direct access to all the tournament action across more platforms than ever before.”
For those watching on the new Apple TV, the app will feature Split Screen mode, allowing two live games to be watched at the same time. The app also includes on demand features and social content. Games to be broadcast on CBS, TBS, TNT and truTV will be available on the app.
And for those with Comcast, there’s the new “Extras” feature in the X1 Sports app giving fans a unique interactive way to connect with college hoops on their second screens. “Extras” allows you to see the full tournament bracket – scores, standings, and all – right next to gameplay action. The app will also feature recaps, schedules, and the “Xfinity Player of the Game.”
