NBC News and MSNBC'S Lester Holt Will Host Annual Kaitz Foundation Fundraising Dinner

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Walter Kaitz Foundation announced today that NBC News and MSNBC anchor Lester Holt will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the 22 nd Annual Walter Kaitz Foundation dinner, on September 14 in New York City.

Holt is the co-anchor of NBC's “Today,” Weekend Edition, the nation's top rated weekend news program. Holt also co-anchors MSNBC live from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. ET weekdays where he covers the news stories of the day. Prior to joining “Weekend Today,” Holt was the lead anchor for daytime news and breaking news coverage on MSNBC and served as a primary anchor for MSNBC's coverage of major news events, including Operation Iraqi Freedom and the war in Afghanistan . He also served as lead daytime anchor for MSNBC's coverage of the 2000 presidential election.

The 2005 Kaitz Foundation dinner will be held on September 14, 2005, at the Hilton New York as the anchor of the cable industry's annual Diversity Week activities. The Co-Chairs for this year's Dinner are Brian Roberts, Chairman & CEO, Comcast Corporation and George Bodenheimer, President, ESPN and ABC Sports. The event is being managed by Debbie A. Smith, Executive Director, Walter Kaitz Foundation, and the staff of the Foundation and NCTA.

The 2004 Kaitz Foundation dinner raised $1.4 million and attracted more than 1,400 participants.

Those planning on attending the Kaitz Foundation dinner should make hotel reservations early because the dinner is being held the same week as the opening of the United Nations General Assembly, and hotels are expected to sell out quickly.
