Washington, D.C. – Stephen B. Burke, Chief Operating Officer, Comcast Corporation, and President, Comcast Cable Communications, will serve as Chair of The 2005 National Show, the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) said today.

Under Burke's leadership, the Steering Committee for The 2005 National Show met today in Philadelphia and announced plans for the 2005 convention, scheduled April 3-5 at The Moscone Center in San Francisco.

The 2005 National Show is NCTA's 54 th Annual Convention & International Exposition, the principal annual trade show of the cable and telecommunications industry.

The Steering Committee unveiled a new high-energy format for the 2005 Show, which kicks-off early on Sunday, April 3, and ends on Tuesday evening, April 5, featuring 64 action-packed hours of business, learning and networking opportunities.

“We're responding to the feedback of delegates, exhibitors and guests by designing the most efficient and productive experience possible,” said Burke.

Under the new schedule, the convention floor will open on Sunday afternoon, providing attendees with as much time on the floor as they've enjoyed in previous years. A shift in the session lineup also makes way for increased networking opportunities.

“Steve Burke's leadership and management expertise bring excitement and innovation to the National Show,” said Robert Sachs , President and CEO, NCTA. “The design of the Show, which is efficient, exciting, and charged with energy, is a reflection of Steve's approach to business and NCTA's desire to provide greater value for attendees, exhibitors and participants.”
