America’s Broadband Networks Continue to Grow: The Midwest Pt. 6

America’s cable broadband providers continue their hard work to extend their advanced networks to every community across the country.

As America targets efforts towards connecting every community to robust broadband, cable providers continue to do what they have always done: build out their networks to reach as many Americans as possible.

Illinois

Charter has expanded its fiber broadband network to more than 420 additional homes and businesses in Jefferson County, including Bluford, bringing gigabit service to previously unserved and underserved areas.

Iowa

Mediacom has launched multi-gigabit and symmetrical speed broadband services to nearly 12,000 households in Clinton, upgrading the city with enhanced upload and download speeds using its existing fiber-powered network.

Mediacom has completed a fiber expansion connecting nearly 1,000 homes and businesses in the North Rathbun Lake area through a public-private partnership with the Empower Rural Iowa Broadband Grant Program.

Minnesota

Comcast has expanded its fiber network to more than 600 homes and businesses in Stillwater Township through a public-private partnership funded by the Minnesota Office of Broadband, Washington County and the local community.

Midco is expanding its fiber network across the West Metro area, bringing service to homes and businesses in Long Lake, Maple Plain, Medina, Mound, Orono, Shorewood and St. Bonifacius, following completed construction in Loretto and ongoing work in Independence and Minnetrista.

Mediacom has launched multi-gig and symmetrical speed broadband services to more than 2,400 households in the rural communities of Howard Lake and Winsted, upgrading the region using its existing fiber-rich network.

Missouri

Comcast is expanding its network to connect more than 11,000 homes and businesses in six communities—Concordia, Harrisonville, Higginsville, Lexington, Napoleon and Wellington—bringing reliable, high-speed internet and other services to these areas for the first time.

Ohio

Charter has expanded its fiber broadband network to more than 2,000 additional homes and businesses in Noble County, bringing gigabit-speed Spectrum Internet and other services to previously unserved and underserved areas.

Charter has extended its fiber broadband network to nearly 4,200 additional homes and businesses in Guernsey County, delivering gigabit-speed Spectrum Internet to thousands of residents who previously lacked reliable high-speed service.
