TV Stats: A Standout Winter Games

The Milan Cortina Olympics delivered their strongest audience in more than a decade.

Over 17 days, NBCUniversal’s presentation of the Milan Cortina Winter Games drew millions of viewers across NBC, USA Network, CNBC and Peacock, delivering the largest Winter Olympics audience in more than a decade. From the Opening Ceremony to gold medal matchups, audiences followed the action across broadcast, cable and streaming platforms.

16.7 billion Minutes streamed Across the 17-day event, U.S. audiences streamed 16.7 billion minutes of coverage — more than double the total of all previous Winter Games combined — as Peacock and other platforms carried live events, medal competitions and highlights throughout the full schedule of competition.
23.5 million Average number of viewers across NBCU and Versant platforms The Games averaged 23.5 million viewers — the best Winter Olympics performance since Sochi in 2014 and a 96% increase over the Beijing Games in 2022. It also marked the most-watched Opening Ceremony in 12 years.
3,200 hours Total coverage across platforms NBCUniversal offered more than 3,200 hours of Olympics programming across broadcast, cable and streaming — including over 2,500 hours on Peacock and digital platforms and 700+ hours on linear television — delivering everything from marquee events like hockey and figure skating to behind-the-scenes features.
