Washington, D.C. – NCTA – The Internet & Television Association today announced the addition of Joni Lupovitz to its Legal team as Vice President and Associate General Counsel.
Lupovitz joins NCTA with more than two decades of legal, public policy, legislative and regulatory experience in the private, nonprofit and government sectors. Most recently, she served as NPR’s Senior Director, Public Policy, representing NPR and the public radio system before Congress, the Federal Communications Commission, and other agencies to support public radio news and cultural programming across platforms.
Lupovitz spent nearly 14 years at the Federal Trade Commission serving as FTC Chief of Staff, Attorney Advisor for Commissioner Jon Leibowitz, and as Assistant Director for Enforcement in the Bureau of Consumer Protection. She also was Vice President, Policy at Common Sense Media, where she led advocacy initiatives on children’s online privacy and connected classrooms. Earlier in her legal career, she worked in private practice.
Lupovitz holds a B.A. in English, Film and Communication from McGill University and a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School.
