As America targets efforts towards connecting every community to robust broadband, cable providers continue to do what they have always done: build out their networks to reach as many Americans as possible.

Indiana
Comcast completed a network expansion connecting more than 2,100 previously unserved homes and businesses across Hendricks, Wayne, Allen and Delaware counties. The multi-million-dollar project was completed in partnership with the Indiana Broadband Office through the state’s broadband grant program.
Mediacom is partnering with the Indiana Broadband Office on nearly $2.4 million in fiber projects that will connect nearly 400 homes and businesses in unserved and underserved areas around Rome City and Wolcottville. The projects will add more than 30 miles of last-mile fiber infrastructure and are expected to be completed within the next two years.
Michigan
This year, Spectrum expanded its fiber broadband network to more than 14,000 additional homes and businesses in Michigan, including 2,200 locations in Missaukee County; 1,700 in Montcalm County; 1,000 locations in Kalamazoo County; and many other locations across the state’s most rural areas. These expansions, supported in part by Michigan’s ROBIN Broadband Grant program and the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund, bring gigabit Internet to previously unserved and underserved areas.
Comcast’s network expansion in Jackson County is now over halfway complete, with more than 7,400 additional homes and businesses expected to gain access when finished. The project, which is on track for completion by spring 2027, builds on Comcast’s expansion efforts across Michigan, where it has connected an additional 32,000 homes and businesses in the last year.
Minnesota
Mediacom completed 12 fiber broadband projects across Minnesota ahead of schedule, connecting more than 3,900 homes and businesses with over 400 miles of new fiber. The $24 million-plus public-private investment also enabled Mediacom to expand fiber to another 1,600 homes and businesses using private funding, with much of the construction reaching hard-to-connect areas such as northern Minnesota’s Iron Range.
Ohio
Since June 2026, Spectrum has expanded its fiber broadband network to nearly 24,000 additional homes and businesses across the state, including Brown, Gallia, Preble, Morgan, and Union counties, among others. The expansion brings gigabit Internet to previously unserved and underserved areas of the county.
Wisconsin
Comcast is expanding its network to more than 5,500 homes and businesses in Manitowoc and St. Croix counties, including communities such as Cato, Centerville, Baldwin and Woodville. The nearly 300-mile expansion is underway, with the first customers expected to be connected by the end of 2026 and construction completed by the end of 2027.
Spectrum has expanded its network to more than 10,000 homes and businesses in Wisconsin this year, including its most recent buildout to more than 3,500 locations in Lincoln County, including in the townships of Merrill, Pine River, Schley, Scott, Somo, and Tomahaw
