CNN and OWN Unite to Celebrate Juneteenth

CNN and OWN celebrate Juneteenth

CNN and OWN are coming together to bring audiences a historic celebration of the Juneteenth holiday, the oldest known observance of the end of slavery in the United States. "Juneteenth: A Global Celebration for Freedom," produced by Live Nation Urban and Jesse Collins Entertainment, will air on both networks and will aim to amplify the rich culture and significance of Juneteenth through its star-studded lineup and performances.

A Concert Experience

Returning for its second year, the event, taking place in Los Angeles, promises an immersive musical and cultural experience with authentic sounds from African diaspora. Artists performing include Miguel, Kirk Franklin, SWV, Davido, Coi Leray, and Jodeci. Grammy and Emmy Award-winner Adam Blackstone and Questlove, co-founder of The Roots and Academy Award-winning filmmaker, will serve as the evening's musical directors. The event also aims to educate viewers on the 158th anniversary of Juneteenth.
