NCTA applauds the leadership of Senator Lee for bringing the Government Spectrum Valuation Act to markup tomorrow in the Senate Commerce Committee. This legislation requires federal government agencies to account for the value of their spectrum resources, and recognizes that both licensed and unlicensed spectrum generate value to the U.S. economy. Consideration of unlicensed spectrum potential is especially important for the economy, as estimates show that unlicensed technologies like Wi-Fi alone will generate more than $993 billion in value per year for the United States by 2023.”
