Wi-Fi already carries 90% of mobile data traffic, supports millions of jobs, and drives trillions of dollars in annual U.S. economic activity, making it one of the most productive uses of spectrum ever. GSMA’s claims fly in the face of the FCC and Administration’s deliberate decision to unlock the full 6 GHz band for unlicensed use, which is now projected to contribute $2.4 trillion to the American economy by 2027. This is not a serious analysis but an attempt to undermine a successful policy so that Big Mobile can tighten its grip on spectrum at the public’s expense.”
