“We applaud Senate passage of pro-growth tax provisions in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) that will help sustain investment in cable’s world-class, gigabit-capable broadband networks. These provisions, made on the basis of sound tax policy, are vital to maintaining America’s momentum in expanding fast, reliable internet access nationwide.
“While the cable industry strongly supports restoring the FCC’s auction authority, other provisions in the OBBBA related to spectrum policy disappointingly tilt the spectrum playing field towards the three large cellular companies. We appreciate the recognition that our industry has brought faster speeds and lower prices to consumers through our Wi-Fi and CBRS spectrum deployments’ and we will continue to make clear to policymakers that relocating frequencies that enable these benefits risks damaging competition, increasing costs, and impairing wireless speeds. American consumers deserve choice in how they choose to connect to wireless services.”
