America’s Broadband Networks Continue to Grow: The West Pt. 4

America’s cable broadband providers continue to extend their advanced networks to every community across the country.

As the U.S. targets efforts towards connecting every community to robust broadband, cable providers continue to do what they have always done: build out their networks to reach as many Americans as possible.

Alaska

More than 6,000 residents in Bethel now have access to GCI’s 2.5 gig internet and 5G mobile service through the AIRRAQ Network.

GCI is also in the final stretch of deploying its fiber-optic infrastructure across 13 Aleutian communities as part of the Aleutians Fiber Project.

Arizona

Cox is partnering with eX² Technology and state agencies to bring service to 1,700 households, a school, a library, a post office, and businesses in Black Canyon City.

California

Comcast and the Colusa Indian Community Council are investing over $3 million to extend broadband to homes and businesses on and around the Tribe’s community campus, supported by a $3.2 million state grant.

Charter has launched gigabit service to more than 400 homes and small businesses in San Ardo and North Monterey County.

Oregon

Comcast has connected over 600 homes and businesses in Sublimity to fast, symmetrical internet for the first time and plans to reach 785 more locations by year’s end.

Washington

Comcast and Pierce County have completed a $5 million broadband expansion on the Key Peninsula, delivering high-speed internet to 600 homes and businesses—more than 70 above the original plan.
