Statement of NCTA – The Internet & Television Association Regarding the FCC’s IoT Spectrum Needs Notice of Inquiry

“The Notice of Inquiry adopted on spectrum needs of the Internet of Things further focuses the important conversation about the inputs needed to support and enhance consumer access to this growing area of next-generation connectivity.  We appreciate the Commission’s continued recognition of the importance of unlicensed spectrum for next-generation networking, including for IoT, both in this item and this week’s 6 GHz Public Notice.  As demand for connected devices grows in a myriad of use cases, unlicensed and shared spectrum will play an increasingly important role in meeting those needs.  We look forward to continued engagement on spectrum inputs for next-gen networking.”
