America’s Broadband Networks Continue to Grow: The Northeast Pt. 3

America’s cable broadband providers continue their hard work to extend their advanced networks to every community across the country.

As America targets efforts towards connecting every community to robust broadband, cable providers continue to do what they have always done: build out their networks to reach as many Americans as possible.

Connecticut 

Comcast has completed a network expansion delivering reliable, high-speed internet to nearly 22,000 homes and businesses across Litchfield County, including Litchfield, Morris, Thomaston, Torrington and Watertown.

Maine 

Comcast has begun construction to connect more than 2,000 homes and businesses in Shapleigh to high-speed, symmetrical internet as part of the company’s continued investment in York County.

Maryland 

Mediacom has launched multi-gig and symmetrical speed broadband services to more than 2,000 households in the rural communities of Willards, Pittsville and Whaleyville, expanding high-speed access across Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Charter has launched gigabit broadband services to more than 1,000 homes and small businesses in Somerset County as part of Spectrum’s $7 billion rural construction initiative.

Massachusetts 

Comcast is connecting hundreds of previously unserved homes and businesses on Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket to high-speed internet through a public-private partnership funded by the Massachusetts Broadband Institute’s Gap Networks Grant Program.

Charter has announced a $50 million investment to upgrade and expand its fiber broadband network across Massachusetts, bringing faster and more reliable internet to underserved communities, particularly in western parts of the state.

New Hampshire

Comcast has started construction to connect nearly 2,100 homes and businesses in Deerfield to symmetrical, multi-gig internet as part of its broader investment to expand broadband access across New Hampshire.
