“To advance our goal in making high-speed internet service available to all Americans, we need better broadband maps that can help target resources more efficiently to unserved areas. The bipartisan Broadband DATA Act would meaningfully advance this interest, moving away from census block reporting and allowing providers to utilize shapefiles that more clearly identify served and unserved areas. We applaud Senators Wicker, Peters, Thune and Klobuchar for bringing a vast array of stakeholders together and producing this thoughtful, bipartisan legislation.”
