Veteran communications leader transformed the association’s brand, digital presence, and storytelling during his tenure
As part of a long-planned transition, NCTA – The Internet & Television Association today announced that Brian Dietz, Senior Vice President for Strategic Communications, will depart the organization after nearly 24 years of distinguished service. His last day will be September 30.
During his tenure, Dietz transformed NCTA’s communications function into a dynamic, digital-first operation, modernizing how the association engages members, policymakers, media, and the public. He also led a comprehensive rebranding of NCTA, redefining the association’s image for a new era of connectivity and content.
Dietz’s creative leadership extended to original storytelling, producing two multiple award-winning documentary short films, Every Last Mile and After the Storm, which showcased the impact of the cable and broadband industry on communities across the country. Throughout nearly 24 years with the association, he successfully guided the communications function through three CEO transitions, ensuring continuity and consistency in NCTA’s voice and reputation during periods of significant organizational change.
“Brian has made a lasting impact on NCTA during his time here, helping modernize the way we communicate and engage with our members, policymakers, and key stakeholders. We’re grateful for everything he’s contributed and wish him continued success,” said Cory Gardner, President & CEO of NCTA.

NCTA will announce plans for Dietz’s successor in the coming weeks.
