Regional Broadband: Central U.S. Pt. 3

As America targets efforts towards connecting every community to robust broadband – including the distribution of more than $40 billion in federal funds for building new networks – cable providers continue to do what they have always done: build out their networks to reach as many Americans as possible.

With network expansions continuing nationwide, here are a few more examples of projects that work towards the national goal of connecting every American. To learn about other projects highlighted in previous blogs, be sure to check out NCTA.com.

Colorado

Comcast has invested more than $1.2 billion in the state over the past three years, with projects underway to extend networks to Pueblo, West Arvada, Wellington, Mead Area, Severance, Johnstown, and Milliken.

Missouri

Charter has launched its suite of Spectrum services to more than 1,300 homes and small businesses near the communities of Famous, Moscow Mills, New Hope, and Troy. Spectrum’s newly constructed fiber-optic network buildout in rural parts of Lincoln County is part of the company’s approximately $5 billion RDOF-related investment in unserved rural communities.

Oklahoma

This week, Cox is completing its expansion in Tahlequah, providing more than 6,000 residents and businesses in the area with access to gigabit broadband speeds through its fiber network.

Texas

Last year, Comcast continued its fiber network expansion in the cities of Conroe, Montgomery, Hempstead, Porter, Navasota and Cleveland. Conroe, parts of which already have access to Xfinity and Comcast Business services, was the largest expansion area of 2024 — reaching approximately 20,000 additional homes and businesses.
