hackathon

INTX is introducing a brand new event taking place at the show in Chicago this year: INTXHACK. It’s a 24-hour developer challenge that kicks off the Saturday before the show. Technologist, developers, and designers from across the media and entertainment industries will come together to compete in an epic battle to create innovative applications.

INTXHACK, produced in partnership with Comcast/NBCUniversalGracenoteTribune Media and 1871, will take place inside 1871, Chicago’s entrepreneurial hub for digital start-ups. Finalists chosen after the 24-hour challenge will advance to the INTXHACK Finals live in Imagine Park in the center of the INTX Marketplace on Wednesday, May 6 of the show. These teams will also be featured in a special INTX showcase exhibit providing access to thousands of media, entertainment and investment executives and the opportunity to present their ideas throughout the three-day event.

The contestants are asked to keep their apps related to INTX themes of the Internet and television. We’re hoping to see ideas in TV Everywhere, online video, gaming, connected life, navigation and everything in between.

INTXHACK will bring a new energy to the show shining a spotlight on the exciting world of interactive design and development in the heart of Chicago. We can’t wait to see what these hackers come up with!

Stay tuned for more information regarding additional partners, guest judges for the INTXHACK Finals, and prizes.
