Cable Reaches Far and Wide, but how Quickly Did it Arrive?

This week's #broaddata is a look at how long it took for some of the most important technologies in history to reach our homes. It's amazing to think that it took between 1876 and 1945 - almost 70 years - to get 50% of Americans a telephone line. And fifty short years later, it took a mere 10 years to do the same feat with broadband. Of course, 50% isn't nearly good enough. That's why cable has invested $200 billion over the last 17 years in order to bring 93% of Americans some of the fastest broadband in the world. Cable will continue to invest, rapidly expand, and increase speeds for every American.
