Recently, NCTA’s docufilm “Every Last Mile” earned Gold and Silver at the American Advertising Federation (AAF) awards. These accolades add to the growing list of recognitions for the film, which tells the story of the hard work it takes to extend broadband networks to rural and far-out areas that have been waiting for modern internet service.
Every last American deserves broadband access
The film, released last summer, follows crews as they battle against time and nature to extend networks in the Arizona desert, the frozen landscape of Minnesota, and the rugged, remote Aleutian Islands off mainland Alaska.
- Each location presents its own unique and difficult challenge, from extreme heat and cold to isolation and unpredictable terrain.
- Beyond the engineering hurdles, crews must also find ways to do their jobs safely amid constantly changing conditions.
The project serves to highlight the complex and impressive work done by technicians and crews around the country, as the United States pursues the ambitious goal of connecting every American regardless of where they live.
