"The FCC’s action represents another significant step in moving the digital transition forward. The cable industry has consistently supported the goal of preventing the unauthorized redistribution of free, over-the-air broadcast programming over the Internet.
"Cable representatives participated in the inter-industry meetings which led to the broadcast flag proposal. In the FCC proceeding, we asked the Commission to permit the cable industry to implement the flag in the most efficient and effective way for our customers. It appears that the FCC has given cable the flexibility we requested."
