SCTE'S BROADBAND KNOWLEDGE SUMMIT TO BE HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH CABLE 2002 IN NEW ORLEANS

EXTON, PA., JAN. 30, 2002 - The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) will hold its Broadband Knowledge Summit from May 7-9 in conjunction with the 51st Annual Convention & International Exposition of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA), Cable 2002, taking place May 5-8 in New Orleans, La.

"Adding SCTE's Broadband Knowledge Summit to Cable 2002 reinforces our belief that the National Show truly has something to offer for every cable professional," said Robert Sachs, NCTA President & CEO. Sachs noted that the SCTE Broadband Knowledge Summit is the second industry conference to co-locate with the National Show, joining the Broadband Opportunity Conference sponsored by the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM).

"Having the opportunity to tour the Cable 2002 exhibit floor is great added value for our Broadband Knowledge Summit attendees," said John D. Clark, Jr., SCTE President/CEO. "We think that co-locating the Broadband Knowledge Summit with the National Show presents unique opportunities for technical professionals to interact with colleagues of all disciplines within the industry."

The Broadband Knowledge Summit focuses on how to leverage training in the broadband industry. Attendees include technical managers, trainers and customer care, human resources and safety professionals.

Attendees of both the National Show and the Broadband Knowledge Summit will receive free admission to a special presentation by motivational speaker Michael D. Morgan, on Tuesday, May 7, at 2 p.m. at the Morial Convention Center. In addition, Summit attendees will receive free passes to the Cable 2002 exhibit floor, which is the largest in the cable telecommunications industry.
