WASHINGTON, D.C. – Oprah Winfrey will appear at The Cable Show 2011 at 9:00 a.m. (CDT) on Thursday, June 16, 2011, as part of the morning’s general session, the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) announced today.  Ms. Winfrey will engage in a conversation with Paula Zahn about coming to cable, building the OWN brand, and bringing new voices and great storytelling to the network.  The event also will be streamed at live.thecableshow.com.

The Cable Show 2011, NCTA’s 60th Annual Convention and International Exposition, takes place June 14-16 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

After 25 years, Ms. Winfrey just recently celebrated the last episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” and now turns her energies to OWN: OPRAH WINFREY NETWORK, a joint venture between Harpo, Inc. and Discovery Communications.  OWN: OPRAH WINFREY NETWORK is a multi-platform media company designed to entertain, inform and inspire people to live their best lives. OWN debuted on January 1, 2011, in approximately 80 million homes on what was the Discovery Health Channel.

Paula Zahn is host and executive producer of “On the Case with Paula Zahn,” Investigation Discovery’s hit newsmagazine anchoring the network’s Sunday night line-up weekly at 10PM ET.
