NEW FEATURES TO ENHANCE CABLE 2001 EXPERIENCE

Washington, D.C.— The National Cable and Telecommunications Association (NCTA) plans to introduce new features to benefit delegates and the media alike at Cable 2001. These elements include free Internet access in the full-service “Cable Courtyard,” and fully-furnished corporate meeting rooms.

Cable 2001, NCTA’s 50th Annual Convention and International Exposition will be held June 10 – 13, 2001 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

The new “Cable Courtyard” will be located directly across from the entrance to the McCormick Place Exhibit Hall. It will feature a full array of computers with cable modem access to the Internet, courtesy of AT&T Broadband. The complex will also feature a bookstore, the NCTA store, publication bins, and a food court.

Also for the first time, members of the media will be invited to walk the exhibition floor on a tour lead by Jerry Kent, NCTA Convention Chairman and President & CEO of Charter Communications, Inc., and NCTA CEO Robert Sachs. Kent and Sachs will be joined by other industry leaders on a tour of exhibits featuring the very latest in programming and broadband technology.

Also new this year is NCTA’s first ever Conference Center for exhibitors. Conference rooms will be conveniently located on the first level of the convention center, and are available from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 10 through Wednesday, June 13, 2001. Rooms can be reserved through Melinda Yium at 202-775-3606.
