NCTA EXPANDS FLOOR SPACE FOR THE 2004 NATIONAL SHOW

NCTA Expands Floor Space for The 2004 National Show

Contracted Floor Space Sells Out; New Hall Opened

Washington, DC - Greater than anticipated demand for exhibit space has caused the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) to increase the amount of floor space for which it had originally contracted at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans site of The 2004 National Show, NCTA's 53rd Annual Convention and International Exposition scheduled for May 2-5, 2004.

NCTA has expanded its contract for space at the convention center by one additional hall and has begun selling additional space to companies now seeking exhibit opportunities.  As of early March, the amount of floor space reserved for exhibits was 153,300 square feet, which exceeds by more than 10 percent the final amount occupied at last year’s National Show in Chicago.

"The increasing demand for space at The National Show is a reflection of the rising importance of the show as an annual gathering place for all elements of the cable and telecommunications industry," said Barbara York Senior Vice President, Industry Affairs, and Chief Administrative Officer, NCTA. "Rather than limit participation on the floor, we’ve decided to expand the exhibit space to meet demand among prospective exhibitors to be included in this year's Show."

York said the growth in demand for exhibit space this year primarily represents new exhibitors, as well as greater amounts of space being reserved by "repeat" exhibitors.

Additional, up-to-the-minute information for The National Show, including convention schedule, registration materials, and information for current and potential exhibitors, is available via the official web site (www.thenationalshow.com) or from the NCTA's Department of Industry Affairs (202/775-3669).

NCTA is the principal trade association of the cable television industry in the United States. NCTA represents cable operators serving more than 90 percent of the nation's cable television households and more than 200 cable program networks, as well as equipment suppliers and providers of other services to the cable industry.
