Washington, D.C. - Leading the Digital Revolution will be the theme for the 52nd Annual Convention & International Exposition of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA). The National Show is scheduled June 8-11, 2003 at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL.

"There's a digital revolution sweeping across America today - and the cable industry is leading the way. Cable operators are rolling out digital services in cities across the country to provide even more choices to consumers, while cable programmers are in the forefront of creating innovative HDTV programming," said Matthew C. Blank, Chairman of the Cable 2003 Convention Committee, and Chairman & CEO, Showtime Networks Inc. "The National Show is the premiere trade show for the cable industry, and as such, will be a perfect showcase for the latest advances in the digital age."

"As the cable industry evolves, so too does The National Show. This year's exhibit floor will feature cable's many new digital products and services, and the general sessions and other panel discussions will focus on them as well," said Robert Sachs, President and CEO, NCTA.

Sachs pointed to the industry's $65 billion investment in plant upgrades since 1996 as an example of the industry's commitment to introducing new digital services including HDTV, video-on-demand, high speed Internet and cable telephony to American consumers.

NCTA also announced the launch of www.thenationalshow.com, the official web site of The National Show. The website features up-to-the-minute information, including convention schedule, registration and housing materials, exhibitor information, an interactive floor plan, and all convention-related press releases.

Additional, up-to-the-minute information is available from NCTA's Department of Industry Affairs (202/775-3669).
