INTX 2015 Will Host the Next Interactive Launch Competition

Return of Business Solutions Competition to Industry Trade Show Brings Teams of MBA Students Back to Solve Complex Challenges in the Worlds of Multiplatform Video and Broadband

WASHINGTON, DC -- The Internet & Television Expo (INTX) 2015 – the trade show and event built for doing business in the digital economy – will host the next Interactive Launch Competition, the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) and Interactive TV Works announced today.

The competition, set for the afternoon of May 4, 2015, on the eve of INTX, May 5-7, 2015 at McCormick Place West in Chicago, will be the sixth edition of the Interactive Launch Competition led by Interactive TV Works’ Craig Leddy, president of the firm and founder of the competition.  One previous edition, in May 2014, was held at The Cable Show, NCTA’s annual trade show and the predecessor to INTX.

All INTX 2015 registrants are invited to attend the competition on a complimentary basis.  Separate sign up is available during the “Additional Registration Options” step of the online registration process.

As they did at last year’s Cable Show, student teams from leading U.S. business schools will come to INTX to compete in presenting business and marketing solutions to support the go-to-market deployment of advanced television and online video technologies.  Opportunities related to the competition are now available, including the chance for business school teams to compete; Internet and television companies to mentor participating teams; industry executives to help coach the teams that will participate; and industry companies to sponsor the event.

“When we learned about plans for INTX and its focus on everything Internet and television, we knew we had to be there,” said Leddy.  “Students from past competitions have generated many great ideas and offered major insights into the challenges our industry faces as it brings to market next-generation products and services.  We’re certain our 2015 edition will break through with innovative thinking and entrepreneurial spirit.”

Added Barbara York, Senior Vice President, NCTA, “INTX is all about the future of our business and the amazing world we’re building through content, technology, and services.  It’s a perfect match for today’s business students who are eager to demonstrate their creative approaches in jump-starting dynamic new Internet and television products and services.”

After the MBA students address specific launch challenges through their presentations, a panel of industry experts will review their solutions and award cash prizes to the top three teams to support their education. The audience at the event will have the chance to weigh in as well by voting for an Audience Choice Award winner.

Participating teams, mentor companies, and industry sponsors will be announced later this winter.  Interested university-specific MBA teams – or any interested potential mentor companies or sponsors – should visit Interactive TV Works or contact Craig Leddy at [email protected] or (914) 310-6831.
