GameNET Comes to The 2005 National Show;
Exhibit Space is Rapidly Booking Up

New Marketing for Show on the Web and in the Mail
Emphasizes "64 Hours"

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Momentum is growing for a broader and more varied national convention based on recent developments leading up to The 2005 National Show, the 54th Annual Convention & International Exposition of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA), April 3-5, 2005, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

NCTA announced today that The 2005 National Show will host the GameNET 2005 Conference and Exhibition. Hosting GameNET acknowledges the growing importance of subscription based video games as a broadband application that's growing in demand among cable subscribers and which offers business growth to cable operators. GameNET at the Show will join the CableNET® pavilion from CableLabs and other displays highlighting major technology and growth applications for the cable and telecommunications industry.

GameNET 2005

Produced by Shorecliff Communications, a leading broadband and wireless communications media company, GameNET is designed to bring together broadband carriers, game publishers and infrastructure solution providers to explore the business case, technology platforms and pricing models for the next generation of broadband delivery of interactive gaming content. The GameNET program will be incorporated into The National Show agenda, allowing all National Show delegates to participate in its sessions and demonstrations. A special GameNET Pavilion will be added to The National Show exhibition floor, and will feature numerous vendors interested in showcasing their product at the cable industry's premiere event.

"The National Show is designed to highlight the latest trends and technologies of interest to the cable industry, so GameNET is a perfect fit," said Barbara York, Senior Vice President, Industry Affairs and Chief Administrative Officer, NCTA. "We think the GameNET pavilion will not only demonstrate that broadband-delivered games and gaming offers significant benefits to cable operators and subscribers - it should also be great fun!"

Adding GameNET to The National Show will provide an opportunity for participants to meet with game infrastructure and solutions partners who enable the networked game experience; learn about case studies and business presentations on Multiplayer Gaming as a premium cable service; learn more about the PacketCable Multimedia (PCMM) architecture specifications; examine technical platforms for hosting, networking, bandwidth management, and quality of service; and learn more about peer-to-peer applications and the set-top box as a viable platform for game interactivity.

Exhibit, sponsor and speaking opportunities are available for GameNET. Information is available online at www.shorecliffcommunications.com/gamenet05.

Exhibit Space; Show Promotion

NCTA also said today that more than 151,000 square feet of exhibit space already has been assigned to exhibiting companies. The square footage assigned to date is approaching the total amount of exhibition space at The 2004 National Show this past spring in New Orleans, which was 167,000 square feet.

In publicizing The 2005 National Show, NCTA is promoting its new format, which packs more activity and information into a tighter period of time. "64 Hours That Will Dramatically Change Your Business" is the marketing tagline for promotional and "Save the Date" materials currently being distributed to cable industry executives through the mail and via the World Wide Web.

The newly-opened Web site for the 2005 Show, www.thenationalshow.com, has been re-designed to reflect NCTA's efforts to create an action-filled, efficient, and exciting two-and-a-half days of cable and broadband-related exhibits, displays, panel discussions, and meetings.

General registration for The 2005 National Show opens in December. Additional, up-to-the-minute information for The 2005 National Show is available via the official web site (www.thenationalshow.com) or from NCTA's Department of Industry Affairs (202/775-3669).

NCTA is the principal trade association of the cable television industry in the United States. NCTA represents cable operators serving more than 90 percent of the nation's cable television households and more than 200 cable program networks, as well as equipment suppliers and providers of other services to the cable industry.
