The General Session on Monday, May 3, “Leaders to the Nth Degree,” will set the tone for the Show and reinforce its slogan, “Cable to the Nth Degree.” Richard Parsons, Chairman & CEO, Time Warner, and Brian Roberts, President & CEO, Comcast Corporation, will discuss major business issues facing leaders in cable and telecommunications, and Fox News Channel business correspondent Stuart Varney will moderate.

A Public Policy luncheon, also on Monday, May 3, will focus on legislative issues, with remarks from U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens (R-AK), chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, and U.S. Rep. F. James Sensenbrenner, Jr. (R-WI), chair of the House Judiciary Committee.

U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige will discuss opportunities in education for the cable industry in an address to a Public Policy breakfast on Tuesday, May 4.

Later that morning, FCC Chairman Michael Powell will address a General Session of the convention.

Chairman Powell’s colleagues – FCC Commissioners Kathleen Abernathy, Jonathan Adelstein, Michael Copps, and Kevin Martin – will appear at the Public Policy lunch on Tuesday, May 4, to discuss the regulatory environment for cable and telecommunications. Also participating in that luncheon program will be Acting Assistant Secretary of Commerce Michael Gallagher, who also serves as acting head of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).

“We’re delighted to have such a stellar group of business and public policy leaders participating in the Show,” said Robert Sachs, President & CEO, NCTA. “Their knowledge, insights, and observations will further enhance what’s already shaping up to be a dynamic convention.”
