Education & Technology Experts to Address Attendees

Cable in the Classroom (CIC) today announced that their annual corporate representatives meeting will be held in conjunction with the NCTA National Show in New Orleans. Renamed the Cable & Education Leaders’ Symposium (CELS), the two-day meeting will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 4&5.

The CELS meeting is open to representatives from CIC’s member networks and MSOs. In keeping with CIC’s new strategic focus, this year’s meeting will include several key education and technology experts including:

  • *John Bailey, U.S. Department of Education
  • *Dale Allender, Associate Executive Director, National Council of Teachers of English
  • *James M. Marshall, Ph.D., Department of Educational Technology, San Diego State University
  • *Jon Goodman, Ph.D., Executive Director, EC2 Incubator for New Technology Business, University of Southern California
  • *James McCarthy, Web Strategist and Founder, Ichi Web Strategy and Development.

  • Attendees will hear from these experts on a wide range of topics including technology and education trends, recent education technology research, and the role of education technology in the implementation of the "No Child Left Behind" Act. They will address how this information will help inform CIC’s new work.

    In addition, attendees will learn more about CIC’s new work including new member services, new research plans and new communications strategies.
