DENVER, CO – The Cable Center announced a call for nominations for its inaugural Bresnan Ethics in Business Award.  The new industry award honors the late William J. Bresnan, founder and chairman of Bresnan Communications and long-time chairman of the board of The Cable Center.  The Bresnan Ethics in Business Award will be presented by The Cable Center at the Cable Hall of Fame Celebration, June 14, 2011 at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers, in conjunction with the National Cable and Telecommunication Association's (NCTA) Cable Show.

Industry members are invited to nominate outstanding men and women in the cable industry who best exemplify Bill Bresnan’s longstanding commitment to ethics in business.  Nominees should represent the standards upheld by Bill Bresnan, including continually demonstrating ethical leadership qualities, doing what’s right in the face of adversity, even when it is unpopular, and incorporating doing what’s right in everyday life.  Anyone with at least fifteen years of service in the industry is eligible for the award.  A nomination form and complete details are available on The Cable Center’s website, www.cablecenter.org.   All nominations are due by March 29. An exhibit honoring the award recipients will be on permanent display at The Cable Center.

“Those of us who knew Bill also knew he had an extraordinarily high level of integrity, and we are proud to be able to honor him with this award,” said Nick Davatzes, retired chief executive officer, A&E Television Networks, and chairman of the Bresnan Award selection committee.  “It is a fitting tribute to a true role model and cable champion.”

“Bill was dedicated to not only the cable industry, but also The Cable Center,” said Larry Satkowiak, president and chief executive officer of The Cable Center.  “We are immensely honored to be able to recognize him, in partnership with the Bresnan family, with this award.”

The Cable Center will host its 14th annual Cable Hall of Fame Celebration during Cable Connection – Spring, a week of cable industry events uniting major industry associations, conferences and meetings in Chicago, June 14-16, 2011.   For more information on the Cable Hall of Fame Celebration, visit www.cablehalloffame.com.
