WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) today issued a Call for Presentation Proposals as part of the annual CIO.IT track for Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and Information Technology (IT) executives at The Cable Show 2012.  NCTA’s 61st Annual Convention and International Exposition will take place at the Boston Convention & Exposition Center, May 21-23, 2012.

CIO.IT brings together leading industry CIOs, developers and professionals in a one-of-a-kind conference devoted to the vital category of information technology. Featuring panel discussions, networking opportunities and the CIO.IT | Competition 2012 presentations, the special track offers a one-stop immersion into everything IT.

For the third consecutive year, CIO.IT’s steering committee, comprising the industry’s top ranking CIOs, is seeking to review vendor/partner suggestions that focus on the industry’s major IT issues.  The steering committee has asked for proposals related to the following cable system and/or content provider issues:

  • Big Data/Predictive Analytics
  • Cyber Security
  • Cloud Services / Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Mobility for the Workforce

Cable IT vendors and partners are invited to submit presentation proposals for brief, targeted, non-product-specific presentations that offer solutions to these and related issues.  Proposals will be evaluated by a representative panel of cable’s most prominent CIOs.  Those that are awarded a presentation slot will enjoy the opportunity to present their solution in a competitive format during panel presentations for CIO.IT track attendees during the two-day program at The Cable Show.

The deadline for proposals is 11:59 p.m. (EST) on Friday, February 3, 2012. Proposals may only be submitted online at 2012.thecableshow.com/Attending/CIOIT.  Proposals should not exceed 500 words.  Those that are awarded a presentation slot will enjoy a 10-15 minute opportunity to present their solution in a competitive format during panel presentations for CIO.IT track attendees.  Cable industry CIOs will comprise a board of reactors, pose questions of the presenters, provide feedback, and choose their favorite presentations.  Based on the success of their actual presentations, panel presenters may have the opportunity to meet further with cable industry CIOs and IT executives to discuss their ideas in more detail.
