The Walter Kaitz Foundation Integrates With the NCTA Education Foundation

Washington, DC – The Walter Kaitz Foundation, which has been co-located at NCTA – The Internet & Television Association’s headquarters in Washington since 2004, has been fully integrated into the NCTA Education Foundation, Inc. This comes after a year-long strategic assessment of the former Kaitz Foundation in 2023 by a committee of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) professionals and senior industry executives.

This integration became effective on May 22, 2024, and was approved by the former Kaitz Foundation Board and the NCTA Education Foundation Board.

Established by NCTA, the NCTA Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to leveraging the industry's positive impact on communities. With this integration, the Foundation's mission will enhance the industry's long-standing commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. The Foundation will continue the former Kaitz Foundation’s grant-making programs and support for legacy industry organizations and efforts.

“Through this new integration, we will continue the legacy of Walter Kaitz and shine a light on efforts to enhance inclusion and equity throughout our industry,” said Michael Powell, President & CEO, NCTA. “Our work is far from over, and our future success hinges on an enduring commitment to foster better workplaces and better communities for all. I eagerly anticipate renewing our efforts together this fall at the annual Kaitz Dinner.”

The former Kaitz Foundation’s functions will continue seamlessly, including the management and production of the Kaitz Dinner. All fundraising, marketing and communications will be led by the staff of the former Kaitz Foundation. The annual Kaitz Dinner is on October 23, 2024, and funds raised from this dinner will support targeted grant-giving to industry diversity programs.
