Rozzelle Testifies on Rural Broadband Funding

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Dave Rozzelle, Executive Vice President, Suddenlink Communications, today testified  before the House Committee on Agriculture, Subcommittee on Rural Development, Research, Biotechnology, and Foreign Agriculture, as part of a hearing on "Formulation of the 2012 Farm Bill: Rural Development Programs."

Rozzelle testified on behalf of NCTA to emphasize that the Farm Bill should take strong steps to direct taxpayer dollars where they are most needed and not pick winners and losers among private providers. He asked that any broadband funding program should require that projects target largely unserved households, allow existing broadband providers to demonstrate that they already serve an area, and include transparency and accountability mechanisms.
