PROGRAMMING, BROADBAND TECHNOLOGY AND NEW MEDIA TO HIGHLIGHT CABLE 2001

Washington, D.C.- The National Cable Television Association (NCTA) has announced "Early Bird" registration options for Cable 2001. This year’s Annual Convention and International Exposition will run June 10 - 13, 2001, at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.

Registration forms are now in the mail to more than 30,000 expected attendees. In addition, the Cable 2001 web site, www.cable2001.com serves as a comprehensive source of information, offering easy online registration options.

"Early Bird" registration fees to attend Cable 200l in Chicago are as follows:

  • $450 for members/$650 for non-members
  • $250 for "Exhibits Only" member rates/$450 for non-members
  • The above discounted fees are effective only if registered prior to February 28.
  • Participants who wish to register in advance on a "per day" rate can register starting April 16. "Per day" registration is delayed until April in order to provide the best service and hotel options to full registrants.

Cable 2001 Chairman Jerry Kent, President & CEO, Charter Communications, and the NCTA Convention Committee are now finalizing the final program, which will feature the top names in broadband, high-tech, new media and programming. Speaker suggestions are welcomed at www.cable2001.com.

Meanwhile, on the McCormick Place exhibition floor, exhibitors will showcase the latest in high-speed data transmission, digital cable, programming and telephony that have put cable at the cutting edge in advances in consumer-oriented telecommunications technology. Cable 2000, held in New Orleans, drew 31,210 attendees and the exhibit floor showcased 367 companies in 350,300 net square feet. To date, 35 new exhibitors have put Cable 2001 on pace to surpass those numbers.
