Statement of Michael Powell, President & CEO, NCTA- The Internet & Television Association, Regarding House Consideration of the RAY BAUM’s Act

“We applaud the House floor consideration of the RAY BAUM’s Act, which reauthorizes the FCC for the first time in 28 years and will lead to the identification of new spectrum to support skyrocketing demand for Wi-Fi and other unlicensed services. We are heartened by the bipartisan leadership of House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Greg Walden, Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Senate Commerce Committee Chairman John Thune and Ranking Member Bill Nelson on legislation that is rightfully named after Ray Baum, an outstanding public servant who exemplified class and grace throughout his career. I would add everyone at NCTA to the countless others who admired Ray and how he lived his life personally and professionally.”
