Pat Esser Statement on the Appointment of McSlarrow to President, Washington, DC, for Comcast

The following statement is from Patrick J. Esser, Chairman of the Board, NCTA, and President, Cox Communications, regarding the appointment of Kyle E. McSlarrow to the position of President, Washington, DC, for Comcast Corp.

On behalf of the entire NCTA Board, I want to congratulate Kyle and Comcast on Kyle’s appointment to this prominent new position.  Kyle will be a great asset for Comcast just as he was a bold and visionary leader of NCTA, and we’re especially glad that he’ll remain within the cable family.  We wish Kyle all the best as he opens this new chapter of his career.

Kyle during his tenure at NCTA will be remembered for his energetic and creative approach to public policy issues, ability to work collaboratively and on a bipartisan basis on major issues, success at keeping us all united in the face of daunting challenges, and optimistic vision of our industry’s contribution to the good of the nation.

I also want to acknowledge and thank the staff of NCTA for its ongoing commitment to excellence during this leadership transition.  With such a fine team in place, we on the NCTA Board have high confidence for continued success as we seek a successor to Kyle.  That search continues, and we’re working very hard to complete it.  We also appreciate the leadership of James Assey, Executive Vice President of NCTA, who will continue to manage the NCTA team for the duration of any transition.”
