"We applaud Senator Toomey for the introduction of S. 3333, the ‘‘Data Security and Breach Notification Act of 2012.”  This important legislation instructs, in a straightforward manner, when and how notification is required in the event of a security breach of computerized data that includes personal information.  We also appreciate that the bill takes the long-overdue step of establishing a level playing field that treats cable on the same basis as other covered entities."
