LOS ANGELES, April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The Cable Show 2010 announced today that Peter Chernin, founder and owner of Chernin Entertainment and The Chernin Group, will conduct an exclusive one-on-one conversation with Brian Roberts, Chairman and CEO of Comcast Corporation, as part of a special kick-off Newsmaker Brunch on Tuesday, May 11 co-sponsored by the Hollywood Radio & Television Society (HRTS) and the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA).

As CEO of Comcast, one of the nation's leading providers of entertainment, information and communication products and services, Roberts' influence on Hollywood is significant – and growing. An audience of Hollywood industry insiders – including producers, directors, script writers, agents and more – will join cable industry executives to hear Roberts' vision of what the future holds for the production and delivery of entertainment and information content.

Chernin currently owns and runs Chernin Entertainment, which produces motion pictures and television programs, and The Chernin Group, which pursues strategic opportunities in media, technology, and entertainment. Prior to starting Chernin Entertainment and The Chernin Group in 2009, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of News Corporation, and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Fox Group, where he oversaw the global operations of the company's film, television, satellite, cable, and digital media businesses. Under his leadership, News Corporation gained a reputation as one of the most successful, forward-thinking media companies of its time. In addition, he played an instrumental role in preparing the company for the digital age, leading the company's highly successful expansion into the broadband and mobile markets.

"The combination of Peter Chernin and Brian Roberts, two renowned executives in the industry, will surely provide our members with an opportunity to listen in on an especially significant conversation about the state of the business," said Kevin Beggs, President of HRTS.

"This newsmaker brunch is the perfect way to kick off The Cable Show as we return to Los Angeles for the first time since 1996," said Barbara York, Senior Vice President, Industry Affairs, NCTA.  "We appreciate having HRTS members involved in our Show, and the conversation between Peter Chernin and Brian Roberts is sure to be a highlight of the show."
