NCTA is the principal trade association for the U.S. cable industry, representing cable operators serving more than 90 percent of the nation’s cable television households and more than 200 cable program networks. The Association represents cable’s points of view on public policy issues to Congress, the Administration, the Federal Communications Commission, and other federal agencies. NCTA also works to inform consumers about cable’s value and its ability to enhance our lives.
NCTA also manages a variety of initiatives to leverage cable’s resources in support of public service projects. Through the Cable Puts YOU in Control initiative, NCTA offers tools and tips to parents and families about how to best manage the flow of video and online content into their homes. Working through the industry’s Walter Kaitz Foundation, NCTA supports programs that advance diversity in cable’s workforce, cable programming, cable marketing, and the industry’s supplier base. NCTA also works to encourage young people and employment candidates to consider careers in cable and its related fields.
