The Africa Channel brings the rich and diverse perspectives of Africa and its people into U.S. homes with over 1,600 hours of original and first-run English-language programming, ranging from news, music, feature films, reality, talk and special events to soaps, travel, lifestyle and documentaries - many of them among the top-rated and longest-running series in Africa.  Virtually none of these programs have been seen in the U.S. until now.  The channel is programmed to meet the broad and nationally diverse tastes of both African Americans and general American audiences who are interested in learning about the continent and its people.
