Ovation TV is the only 24-hour television network devoted exclusively to art and contemporary culture. The network showcases the world’s greatest artists in theater, dance, opera, literature, film, visual and fine art, music, popular arts, design, photography and architecture. Ovation TV features original programming, a multiplatform content strategy (www.OvationTV.com) and partnerships with leading American performing and cultural arts institutions and arts education organizations.
In August 2006 Ovation TV was acquired by Hubbard Media Group and a group of private investors which includes Arcadia Investment Partners, Corporate Partners II, Perry Capital, and The Weinstein Company.
When it was acquired by the new investors, the network reached approximately 5 million subscribers. Ovation TV re-launched in June 2007, adding significant additional national carriage on DIRECTV (channel 274) and subsequently on DISH Network (channel 157). Ovation TV currently reaches over 33 million cable systems in key markets nationwide. The network has distribution agreements in place with most major cable operators.
