NCTA is the principal trade association for the U.S. cable industry, representing cable operators serving more than 90 percent of the nation's cable television households and more than 200 cable program networks. There are a wide variety of suppliers to the industry.

There are many state and regional associations that represent the cable and telecommunications industry and a number of professional organizations.

There are also federal and intergovernmental entities that are related to telecommunications.
