Digital Phone / Cable Telephony (VoIP - Voice over Internet Protocol)
Most cable companies have launched (VoIP) phone service, or digital phone service, providing consumers a true alternative to standard telephone service. More than 18.7 million homes are now subscribing to cable’s digital phone service – a number that continues to steadily grow.
One significant benefit of cable’s digital phone service is the substantial consumer savings resulting from a competitive marketplace. In fact, cable’s phone service has already saved consumers more than $40 billion. Households and small businesses could save more than $110 billion by 2012 according to a recent study by MiCRA Inc.
