Legal

The Legal Department monitors and participates in all relevant FCC and Copyright Office proceedings; participates in litigation affecting the cable industry; responds to other federal regulatory agencies when cable-related issues are involved; monitors state regulatory actions; assists NCTA members with cable-related questions; and participates in academic and research activities involving cable. Staff writes briefs, pleadings, position papers and testimony, and assists in lobbying efforts on behalf of the Association's membership. The department also manages the economic and policy research necessary to support industry positions before the courts, Congress, federal agencies and public policy organizations.
