In its maturity, hip-hop has been perceived as the breeding ground for female degradation, the inspiration for criminality, the delivery man of shame to the black community and a flat out bad influence to youngsters. BET News felt the need to set the stage and position itself as the mediator to a heated forum that will allow the community to get the opinions of those that are notable in the hip-hop industry as well as in the political realm.
